Great restaurant!

Engels Ratskeller more than lives up to its motto "House of Hospitality". From the preparation to the implementation of our small celebration, our wishes were carefully and sensitively taken into account. The "nostalgia menu" we requested was excellent from starter to dessert and simply delicious. This also proves once again that everything is still prepared here with enthusiasm and love for regional and seasonal cuisine. The excellent service bears the signature of the junior boss, who lives and breathes the philosophy of the family business and carries it on, which is particularly beneficial in these short-lived, difficult times. The food is a dream !!! Homemade spaetzle with Gorgonzola, pear and walnut just one example of an indescribable taste explosion! Hammer!!! Cozy atmosphere, super nice service ... It's worth taking a look ...

Very bad service. Food was meh.

7 pm table reserved, occupied on time, starter 8 pm, main course 8:25 pm, there was no time for dessert. Service all alone there for the whole restaurant, probably overwhelmed, since drinks were too many or missing. Food was okay in taste, but not overwhelming. I don't need to go there anymore, there are better alternatives in Geldern. Too bad.

For larger rounds (with us 20 people), the organization can be skillfully, reliably and very friendly helped. The food is excellent and even if we were with 5 children certainly not a quiet company was never annoyed or rude responded. We would like to come again.

The service is great, fast and charming. It's all very fast, but not really. A recommendation is also to get. The food was very good and the portions did not wash too big. Just to recommend!

It is centrally located in the pedestrian zone. Maintained from the outside and the dining room is cozy. The rooms are inexpensive could be a bit modernized. They are clean and functional.
